Google’s New Algorithm: Page Experience

September 26, 2022

Google recently announced its new algorithm, Page Experience, which is aimed at providing website visitors with the best possible web experience by taking into account factors such as loading speed, responsive layout and secure browsing.

The roll-out of the algorithm, which is expected to become official in 2021, signifies a massive shift from the traditional ways of ranking websites in search engine result pages (SERPS). As before, the search engine giant will continue to prioritize content quality, relevance and overall user experience, but by taking page speed and website security into account, websites can now benefit from better rankings in SERPs.

By utilizing principles from the existing mobile-friendly and core web vitals standards, Page Experience evaluates and ranks a website based on its loading times, safety, page layout and responsiveness, interactivity, visual stability and general user experience. All of these areas apparently give a website more visibility and an increase of online presence.

Website owners are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the new set of standards and proactively look at ways to optimize their pages in order to benefit from better SERP rankings. This includes making sure the site loads quickly and correctly, ensuring that all parts of the site are secure and free from malicious elements, and ensuring the layout, visuals and content all work hand-in-hand to create an easy and satisfying navigation experience for users. Additionally, websites should also focus on creating useful content that is useful and relevant to their target audience.

As the SEO landscape continues to evolve and become increasingly competitive, it is important for website owners to stay up-to-date with the latest best practices for optimization. The roll-out of Google’s new Page Experience algorithm is a significant step forward that can potentially benefit the search result rankings of websites with the best possible user experience. Taking into account the time and effort needed to make sure all areas of the website are optimized, it is clear that the true winners of this new algorithm will be the websites that invest in quality optimization.
